MEET YOUR TEACHERS

JILL HOWARD SAILORS
Jill trained and performed with the Omaha Ballet Company for four seasons as a full company member. She is no stranger to the Omaha Playhouse stage and other area theatres as a performer and choreographer. She was voted best supporting actress in a musical at the Playhouse for her role as Anytime Annie in 42nd street. As a dance major, she attended Oklahoma City University, College of Performing Arts, where she performed with the American Spirit Dance Company and the Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma. She has had the opportunity to study on scholarship at well-known schools, such as Joe Tremaine, Hollywood, California, The Broadway Dance Center, NYC, and Gus Giordano's Jazz Dance Chicago.
After college, Jill assisted teaching in Blair, and for two teachers in the Omaha area. She
also operated her own school in Fort Calhoun from 1986 to 1991. She was called by a friend to come to Atlantic City, New Jersey to perform in the Broadway Musical , "My One and Only", to fill in for a girl who had to leave the company . Jill was bitten by the "performance" bug and went on to do three
European tours ot the musical "42nd Street", a National Tour of "Will Rogers Follies", a European tour
of "Crazy For You" and a musical revue in Tokoyo, Japan.
Jill returned to the studio in 1996 , and is enjoying a new career, teaching dance.

ABBIE
Abbie received her dance training through the Judy Howard Dance Studio. She was a member of the Blair High School pom squad and the U.N.O. Maverick girl's dance team. Abbie has led our pom program for eight successful years. She was an All American with the National Cheerleading Association; she was also a Universal Dance Association staff nominee. She performed in the Day of Revolution Parade in Cancun Mexico, 1996. She also performed in the parade and half time performance at the Peach Bowl in Atlanta, GA in 1995. In addition to the pom program, Abbie teaches combination dance classes. She continues her dance education through attending dance workshops and national dance conventions. We are very fortunate to have Abbie on our staff!

HEATHER
Heather studied dance at our studio from age 5 through her high school graduation. She went on to study at Marquette University in Milwaukee where she majored in political science and dance. She performed in several dance concerts through the Theater Department at Marquette, including Cinderella. Heather began teaching children's dance classes at the Milwaukee Community Center. We are happy to have her back at our school as a teacher. An accomplished ballet dancer, she teaches the advanced pointe class, as well as combination and advanced classes. Heather is continuing her education at Creighton University.

KATIE
Katie began as Jill's student in Fort Calhoun at age four. She was a student assistant for several years, and became an instructor at our school in 2002. Katie attends the University of Nebraska at Omaha working towards degrees in Business and Spanish. Katie has performed with the Sweet Adelaide's, a song and dance group in Omaha. Katie is an accomplished dancer in all dance styles. A natural teacher, Katie teaches the intermediate pointe class, and combination classes. The students respond well to Katie, and she is an excellent role model for them.

EMILY
Origionally from Missouri Valley, Emily trained with Judy and Jill from the age of 4. She is a talented young lady, and enjoys all forms of dance. She is the Funk Tap Diva at our school and enjoys teaching this high energy advanced class. Emily also works with the pre-school and elementary school classes. She has a special way with the children and they just love her! Emily is studying radiology at Nebraska Methodist College. We are very pleased to be adding her to our teaching staff this year.
